Resources
These are some of the online resources that I have found useful in researching Confederate graves in Georgia:
- NPS Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System The Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System (CWSS) is a database containing information about the men who served in the Union and Confederate armies during the War Between the States.
- Index to Georgia Civil War Soldiers This site now contains two indexes to Georgia Civil War Soldiers.
- Georgia Regimental Histories and Rosters This site contains a nice set of rosters for Georgia infantry, cavalry, and artillery units.
- Confederate Pension Applications, 1879-1960 The Georgia Archives applications, supporting documentation, and correspondence for indigent or maimed Confederate veterans or indigent widows of Confederate soldiers.
- Find-A-Grave The Find-A-Grave website is a huge database of graves found all over the world.
- Rootsweb Rootsweb is a free genealogical research site which contains many databases and user submitted family trees.
- The USGenWeb Project The USGenWeb Project is another free genealogical research site. It is broken down by state and then by county or parish.
